No good expected from govt

GILGIT: The fall of Musharraf was a result of infighting among the exploitative powers and the working class should expedite its efforts to eliminate the system from society.
This was stated by Balawaristan Labour Party chief organizer and former member Northern Areas High Court Bar Association Ehsan Ali Advocate while reacting to Musharraf’s resignation.
He said the ouster of a general from the political scene did not bring any positive change in the life of the masses as the actual problems emanated from the social, economic and political policies of the state due to which over 160 million people were living in poverty. He said due to economic exploitation, people were unable to feed their families and committing suicide. Despite this the ruling class continued looting the resources of the country at the expense of the poor.
He said after coming to power the new government has been blaming the Musharraf regime for all problems in the country but it has done nothing for the welfare of the masses despite passage of over four months. He said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan should not have any misunderstanding about the new government as its policies seem to be on a collision course as far as our issues are concerned.
Paying tributes to the people of Yasen for standing up against the government for occupying their resources and giving lease of Gadai-Yasen minerls to outsiders, he said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan have awaken and they were ready to stage joint struggle against injustices and for protection of their resources and basic rights.
