GILGIT: The Balawaristan National Front (BNF), under the leadership of Abdul Hamid Khan, has right to struggle for creating of Balawaristan state and this right has been recognised by the world community open-heartedly, therefore, the criticism of the BNF in some Pakistani newspapers is negation of the facts and is condemnable.BNF central leader Ali Madad Bai stated while reacting to a statement published in English daily, ‘The Post,’ and attributed to some political and social figures, including Pakistan Muslim League-Function Joint Secretary Ashraf Qureshi, Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab Deputy General secretary Rao Zafar Iqbal, Mufti Hidayatullah Pasruri of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, Citizen Assocation South Punjab General Secretary Intizar Hussain Qureshi and Salim Leghari of Khidmat Insaniyat Party. The BNF leader said these leaders criticised in the tone of agencies the speech of Abdul Hamid Khan, who is chairman of the representative movement of more than two million people who are deprived of their fundamental human rights for the past 60 years, in the European Parliament in Brussels and UNO General Assembly wherein he talked of creating an independent state comprising area from Chitral to Sheenaki Kohistan and to Laddakh.Condemning the statement, Ali Madad Bai said that critics of Abdul Hamid Khan tried to link Gilgit Baltistan with Pakistan by twisting the geographical importance and historical background of the region. He said that on the one hand it depicted their ignorance about the UN charter and Pakistani constitution while on the other hand it showed the lack of their knowledge about the geographical importance of the region.”Besides being staunch Muslims, the people of Gilgit Baltistan are in fact a separate nation as well. Therefore, no nation can tolerate for a long duration the subjugation of any state on the pretext of religious belief and erstwhile East Pakistan is a glaring example of this fact,” he said.”People of Balawaristan did not get freedom from the Dogra Raj for joining Pakistan or on the basis of any religious grounds but liberated 44,000 square miles area from the Dogra Raj without any outside support and laid the foundations of an independent state on November 1, 1947, which is being treated as a colony since November 16, 1947 as the Pakistani agents pushed the straightforward locals towards sectarianism. Whether Islam teaches Pakistanis to enslave other Muslims and deprive them of all their rights?” he added.Ali Madad Bai said that under the leadership of Abdul Hamid Khan, the BNF is struggling for regaining independence for the same state and Abdul Hamid Khan presented this issue before the international community in an effective way. He said the international community wholeheartedly accepted the stance of the BNF leader and passage of a resolution by the European Parliament with a thumping majority for creation of Balawaristan state is proof of this fact.
