GILGIT: By organizing an international conference on the social, political, constitutional and economic conditions of Gilgit-Baltistan in Brussels, the International Kashmir Alliance has done a good service for the region, as the world was mostly unaware of the constitutional status and deprivation of Gilgit-Baltistan.
This was stated by nationalist leaders and student representatives of Gilgit-Baltistan while talking to Bang-e-Sahar correspondent on phone. The nationalist leaders said the governmnet of Pakistan should seriously work on resolving the burning issues which were raised at the Brussels conference. They said the world had become a global village and its attention was now focused on the last colony of the world.
They paid tributes to Balawaristan National Front (BNF) Chairman Abdul Hamid Khan for his efforts to raise the national identity issue of Gilgit-Baltistan at the international level.
They also thanked European Parliamnet member Emma Nocholson for preparing a comprehensive report on Gilgit-Baltistan and speaking at length on the issue at the conference.
